Special Massage scam targeted Australian politician in New York
An Australian politician’s call to a massage service from a posh Midtown hotel Aug. 29 has turned into something of a scandal down under.
Gareth Ward, 37, who represents the Kiama district south of Sydney in the New South Wales state Parliament, was on a trip partially funded by taxpayers. He was headed to a three-day conference in Nova Scotia on politicians with disabilities — that included a one-day layover in New York on Aug. 29.
Ward was staying at the Intercontinental Hotel on W. 44th St. Aug. 29 when he called a number given to him by a friend and ordered up what police sources called a “ special massage ”
After he called the service, two young men came to his door, sources said. Uneasy about how things were unfolding, he told them to leave, police said. At that point, one of the men pulled out his cell phone and started videotaping.
“My friend is 16,” the visitor said, according to sources. “If you don’t pay us $1,000, we’re going to tell everyone we’re minors.”
Ward issued a statement denying that. “The claims I requested a special massage are untrue,” he said in a statement.
“I requested a normal massage as people on holiday will often do. I referred these matters straight to the police and they’re now under investigation.”
Ward told the Daily Telegraph, “I mean, who doesn’t ask for a massage when they are on holiday? I know how it looks but I can assure you this is nothing short of attempted robbery.”
Ward, however, refused to identify the service he called, the Telegraph reported Friday in an article headlined “Gareth Ward Massage Saga.”
ω That sounds totally plausible Gareth! You call some mysterious massage number given to you by a “friend” and now won’t hand over the number. I think none of us would be shocked if that number led to some Craigslist massage advert with some dudes offering to nudge a clients fudge. Man up Gareth and admit your a deviant like the rest of us here!

A health spa owner accused of drunkenly massaging a male customer’s thighs while wearing a bikini has been cleared of sexual assault.
Kerry Brocklebank, 43, was alleged to have repeatedly rubbed down the man despite his protestations at Huntingdon Spa and UK Sports Massage in Cambridgeshire on October 11.
While admitting to being “tipsy” and in swimwear at the time, she denied the charge – insisting she only touched the man’s calf muscles, which are not an “erogenous sexual zone”.
Prosecutor Stephen Mather suggested Brocklebank had touched the alleged victim for her sexual gratification, a claim she denied.
ω Not to sound like a total chauvinist, but can you imagine this trial if it was a man that pulled this shit? If a dude strolled into a massage cubicle, drunk and rocking only a pair of jocks and proceeded to rub down a female chicks calves without permission, he’d be locked up faster than you could say “sexistBSsexistBSsexistBSsexistBSsexistBSsexistBS”
